FISHING REPORT
Well after last weeks tough fishing in the Bay I was a little unshore heading across the Bay after all the rain last week buy he run tide fired up the surface action big time with Salmon, Tailor, Bonito and a few Trevally and Flathead mixed in, top day on Saturday.

Sunday had us off shore and very quite trolling along along the coast and the close reefs were the same but out wide in 65metre the fish turned it on with a great catch of Blue Morwong.

FISHING REPORT

Well the tough fishing continues, Saturday started out slow but we picked up as the day rolled on and the tide flowed in, Four nice Flathead all caught on baits, three legal Snapper caught in Yarra Bay fishing the artificial reef and one nice Trevally and a Salmon at Trevally alley so we did okay but worked for each fish boated.

Sunday great looking day on the water before the North west wind pushed in at about 15knots and the fishing turn off, one small bream of 28cms was it until 12pm now thats as tough as it gets we couldn`t buy a bite, before we boated two good Salmon at Trevally alley a very tough day for all.

The Bay is still rather dirty after all the rain and the weather well thats another story.

The Bay will start to improve as the weather settles down next few weeks will be very interesting fishing.

A nice Bream John caught in the Bay on Sunday on the run in tide.

Snapper and Mowrong caught off shore early last week.

FISHING REPORT
Well the fishing in the Bay is still proving tough, surface action is about but mainly Salmon and they are in broken schools and tough to hook, small Squidgie Flick baits working well.
Small Tailor are mixed in with the odd better one.
Trevally well I fished many spots the last two days for one fish.
Bream are now worth targeting from Towra to the Sticks as we did well on Saturday and Sunday.
Off shore early last week fished well for Snapper and Mowrong in 65metres along with Trevally and Sweep and the water is looking great off shore.
The Boys from Shimano scored a 70kg Stripe Marlin on Saturday fishing wide from the Bay in a trailer boat, great fish boys.

41cm Towra Point Bream caught on the 4th.

FISHING REPORT

Well not the start I like for the new year but what a strange season so far, no Kings in the Bay only the odd one caught, Bream are just starting to fire as we caught a few this week, Small Tailor school off the Thrid Runway fish all around 28cms to 32cms so the odd legal one mixed in.

Trevally at the Sticks and Trevally Alley but you will need to work hard to get them to bite, but tomorrow is another day and its all about to fire up as the water temp is good, so stay tuned.

Deep sea is not to Bad with a few fish about, Trevally around Wedding Cake Island off Coogee and Snapper and Morwong out wide in 65metres.

Well hope all had a great Christmas and are set for a top new year, the last few days have been tricky out on the water due to the southly, but today we found Tevally but had to move about to from spot to spot to do well, surface action has slowed but can change day to day.

The water now pushing into the Bay is looking great and I think the next few weeks should fish well, Kings are now making a show caught a small one today with another one following this is a good sign.

Bream are a top chance right across the Bay now as water temp will rise over the next few weeks, this will see the start to the Bream season.

I had a few reports of nice Flathead taken on Plastic around the Bay, we had a shot today but no good along Silver Beach Kurnell.

FISHING REPORT

I would like to wish all a very merry Christmas and a great new year and I hope all have planned to head out for a few days on the water over the Christmas break.

The season is about to kick into gear as its running behind and I think January and February will be red hot out on Botany Bay.

Surface action of late is about and Salmon, Tailor and Trevally are about so keep an eye open, great fun.

Bream are now starting wide from Towra and I have caught the odd one at the Sticks along with Trevally.

Kings well waiting, I caught one on Tuesday 61cm at the Hot water on a live bait but I think it was a loaner along with one Tailor but that was it and all went quite.

Off shore the fishing is good and the good water will push into the Bay very soon so be ready.

Another few good days on the water, the Bay is fishing well, still no Kings as the water is still rather cool but improving all the time.

I caught the first few Bream this season over the last week or so and as the water improves the Bream will fire, stay tuned.
The last few trips the surface action has been rather good, Tailor, Bonito, Trevally straight out from Brighton beach all the way up the bay to the Sticks, small schools can be found.
Big thanks to Gary Brown on Sunday as he found a good school on Trevally at the Sticks and pouinted me in the right direction as I was fishing the Drums for zip, thanks mate.

Saturday we headed north from the Bay and trolled the coast for one Bonito so slow going, fished in close but a bloody seal moved in and stole every fish we hooked so I headed wide to the deeper reefs and anchored up in 65metres and did quite well landing five Snapper and a few King Fish before heading back onto the sand to hit the Flathead, top day off shore.
Sunday was a top start with nice weather and we found Tailor, Salmon, Bonito along Brighton beach spinning, then headed up the Bay and the south chance hit hard making it tricky at most spots, fished the Drums and again tough going there still is a lot of dirty water in the Bay and cold water this south blow might help.

Dew to the weather over the weekend we never hit the water, but headed south today and found the reefs a little quite, two nice Snapper and two good Morwong and a Stack of super size Pike we kept a few to eat, yes eat, I had two filets for lunch to day just lightly fried salt to taste nice white flesh, give it a try.

Flathead slow mainly due to a strong North East wind that came up around 11am we boated around 8 to end the day.

The last few weeks have proved rather tough, but all has turn this week, in the Bay Tailor are working in close at Brighton and spinning with small metals working well.
Trevally around man made reef in Yarra bay along with to many small Reddies, fished the Drums and found Trevally, Slimy Mackerel.
Deep sea down south on Friday was slow along the coast but move wide to find Flathead in
35metres before heading back to Bait Bay and fishing well for Trevally and a ripper King Fish to kick the season off in style.

Well a little tough over the last week , off shore last Saturday and Wednesday I would say my toughest trips down south working for every fish landed even the Flathead were thin.

Botany Bay on Saturday fished well for Trevally early around the Drums but Sunday we never lost a bait working hard untill 10.30 to fine them at the Oil wharf, there are a few Flathead around but many cast between fish on Plastics and move about, The thrid Runway the pick of spots spinning.

Trevally caught on Sunday

A nice Trevally caught on a Squidgie Flick Bait along the Third Runway.

Salmon south coast Saturday

Two good days on the water this weekend with a South coast trip Saturday, Snapper were tough caught one nice one and a few Morwong on th wide reefs a little tough, so I move in close and set anchore in 20metres and burley but due to the super cold water the Pike turn it on and no Trevally or Reds in close, we found a great school of Salmon and bag a few and finished the day with a few Flathead wide from the water run.
Sunday had us on the Bay with a light southerly great condition, early we did well on Trevally around the Drums but then had a total shut down as that super cold water flow into the Bay on the run in tide.

Two great days out on the water, Trolling proved a little slow this weekend we only found one nice Salmon early on Sunday just before Yellow rock.

Fishing in 20metres just off Wedding Cake island produce Sweep and Trevally and a few under size Reds.

Pushing wide to the deeper reefs in 65metres fished well for Snapper, Morwong and Trevally out from Coggee.

DEEP SEA TURNS IT ON

FISHING REPORT

Super big week out on the water, last week down south the Snapper fired up on Wednesday with 18 good Reds and four Morwong across the reef and quite a few good Flathead on the way home, Thursday the Snapper prove a little tricky only finding three good fish but still came away with a top feed.
Saturday out on the Bay, what a day, great weather but the fishing was a little slow, we caught a good catch of Trevally but we move all over the Bay to find them, Good mate Ian and his crew caught Flathead in Yarra Bay drifting with plastics.

Sunday had us heading north from the Bay, trolling early produce zip but this is quite normal for this time of the year as the water is now at its coldest.

Anchored just of Wedding Cake Island for a good bag of Trevally and one nice Red before heading wide to fish in 65metres out from Coggee, I found a good show on the sounder and drop the anchore, we pulled up tight in the current to fished the bottom and stuck into a red hot bite on the Morwong, what a session.

I pull the anchor and headed south back towards the Bay and the Southly hit hard at 11.30 and that ended our day.

A great week of Deep sea fishing.

Wild and windy, yes I was the only silly fisho out on the Bay with the boys on Saturday but at 6am all looked great just a light breeze from the south west but it hit hard about 7am and by then we were tucked in behind Trevally Alley and we did okay with a few good fish, Sunday Trevally Alley fired up on the last of the runin with good Trevally.

Salmon are about the Third runway, trolling is working well, Sunday we hooked a few on Squidgies.

Saturday with the strong winds I headed towards Brighton beach to spin for Flathead picking up to nice fish on the drift.

FATHERS DAY WEEKEND

Fishing report
Fathers days weekend turned it on out on the Bay, Trevally early at Trevally Alley and a good size to but a little effort was needed to get them on the bite.
Tolling produced two Tailor as long as the lure we were trolling along the Third Runway, we change to soft plastics and scored two Salmon and one good Trevally and lost two more at the boat. great fun on light tackle.
Deep sea for fathers day started out great but the wind from the north made it tricky and quite sloppy found a few fish early in close before targeting Flathead after boating around eight we headed back to the Bay for the last hour or so and caught six Trevally to finish the day.

BIG WEEK OF FISHING

Jason and his two rippers caught last Wednesday.

A good Trevally caught at Trevally Alley on Saturday.

One of the three Flathead caught on plastics in Yarra Bay.

FISHING REPORT
Snapper Wednesday what a day down south with over 20 good reds caught just wide from the Hump, Jason caught the best Snapper about 4kgs, two good Morwong were also boated in the same spot, The Flathead also fired out from the Water run in 35metres to end a great day on the water.

Saturday had us back in the Bay and into Trevally at the Alley early, trolling produced zip but that's the norm this time of the year except for the odd Tailor or Salmon you may run into. Spinning with Squidiges in Yarra bay this week was good and we landed three good Flathead and a Trevally.

Sunday Deep sea trip heading out from the Bay was a little sloppy early and trolling only produced one Bonito so I think they have thinned right out now.

The reefs in close produced well with Trevally early before heading wide to the deeper reefs in 65metres and that proved very tough I don`t think we lost a bait so I headed back in towards Maroubra beach and in 45metres the Flathead again saved the day with a good bag for all.

Sundays deep sea trip turns it on.

One happy angler on Saturday in the Bay at the Oil wharf

at 11am as the Trevally fire up.

Daniel scored a ripper Dusky off shore on a Shimano Lucanus jig.

Daniels day as he hooks the only Snapper.

FISHING REPORT

Botany Bay on Saturday looked great as we headed across the bay, seven spots later and 11am we boated our first fish at the Oil Wharf on the run out tide, some days the fish gods make it tough but we ended the day wit a good bag of Trevally.
Sunday we headed off shore, trolling early we found a few Bonito along the coast but they are few and far between.

Coggee at Wedding cake island fished well for Trevally and A few Sweep and Daniel scored the biggest St Baker fishing the bottom.

MID WEEK TRIP

50metres straight out from the Bay

Yes headed out on Monday to fish the Bay with a mixed group for a rather good day on the water, started in the Bay and found the Trevally a little tricky but caught a few good ones, problem is that there are many smaller fish about so watch the size.
Trolled just off Cape Banks and caught a few Bonito before heading out to 50 metres to fish for Flathead but found it a little tough still caught a good feed but had to move about to find them.

DEEP SEA TRIP THIS SUNDAY TH 14.

We will be heading north from the Bay and the weather is looking good at this stage with light winds and sea only around .8 of a metre.

* Trolling early for Bonito, Kings, Salmon.

*Soft plastic to targeting Snapper.

*Anchor and fish the shallow reefs for Trevally and Snapper.

*Head out and fish the deeper reefs for Morwong, Snapper, Pig Fish.

*Drift the sand for Flathead in 50metre.

Big day off shore from the Bay in top conditions.

Trevally turned it on in the Bay on Sunday at Trevally Alley.

FISHING REPORT

What a week of top weather, I think more of you should have the weekdays off so we can get out on the water, Wednesday we headed out deep sea from the Bay and had a great day with a few fish from the reefs, Bonito trolling early and a good bag of Flathead from the sand in 50 metres and this Saturday we caught much the same, it was just great great off shore fishing in top conditions and a few Whales spotted made it all the more enjoyable for all.
Sunday we fished the Bay for a good bag of Trevally, I tried a number of spots for Flathead only catching two small fish and trolling only produced one small Tailor as big as the lure we were trolling with, but another good day on the water.

Saturday deep sea trip turn it on and the weather could it be any better out on the water and the rest of the week is looking much the same.

Sunday in the Bay, this Flathead grab a CD 9 trolling lure in 4metres
of water along the Third Runway while looking for Tailor.
Trevally are about in good numbers but watch the size as most fish seem to be 28cmc to 32cms, 30cms is legal lenght so quite a few undre size ones but good fun.

WILD WEEK OF WEATHER
Well after the wild week of weather we have just had in Sydney, both Saturday and Sunday were cancelled to give it a chance to settle down, normally after big seas along our coast the fishing can fire up, Iam always keen after the huge seas to head off shore so Wednesday we heading south from Port Hacking for the day, looking at the forecast on seabreeze.com.au it looks like it should be a great day off shores, fingers crossed the Snapper are on the bite.

FISHING REPORT

A little rain but no wind making fishing very enjoyable out on the water this weekend and not that cold due to the cloud cover, Deep sea Saturday started well trolling along the coast with a few good Bonito, yes there still around.

It was a little lumpy off shore so we headed to Wedding Cake island off Coggee and found the conditions quite good and the sounder showed up a few fish, add a little burley and the boys got stuck into them, good size Trevally.

We pushed wide out onto the deeper reefs looking for Snapper and Morwong but found it very quite and the same went for the Flathead on the sand only found two good fish in 50metres.

The Bay on Sunday produced two nice Tailor in Yarra Bay trolling early and a few good Trevally at Trevally Alley just on the edge of the shipping channel and a small Kingie in July.

I headed towards the Oil Wharf and found the Trevally all fired up on the run out tide and more Kings hanging around, water looked good and we watched another boat land two Kings both under size and they went back so the Bay is fishing well for this time of the year.

Nice Snapper caught wide from Coggee.

Rob and a solid Bonito caught on the Bullet.

This Kingie took a bottom bait in 60 metres off Coggee.

Two great days on the water, Saturday had us off shore in flat seas and light west wind, trolling early produced good Bonito along the coast, the shallow that fished well last week proved tough only the odd fish and the Trevally had moved on from Wedding cake island so we pushed wide into 60metres and found the fish Snapper and Morwong on the bite great stuff.
Flathead and Jackets good across the sand in 5ometres just out from the Bay and the Whales were in good numbers again.Sunday and we headed out onto the Bay and found Trevally at the Oil Wharf and Trevally Alley in good numbers, trolling early along the coast produced Bonito.

Spent a bit of time drifting for Flathead but only caught one small one but a fun day.

Great Weekend

Snapper were about all good size pan size fish around 35cm.

Well at last two great day out on the water, light west winds and

no sea at all and Whales all over the place.

The fishing both days prove a little different, Saturday we hooked and landed four Bonito trolling but not one Sunday, Trevally on Saturday only around eight landed but Sunday they turned it on at the Wedding Cake off Coggee along with a few nice SnapperOut wide very quite across the reefs but the Flathead grounds produced well along with LeatherJackets, but the conditions off shore were that good it was just great to be on the water.

A great Snapper for Sydney caught in 60metres

wide from Coggee on Saturday, one happy angler,

Winter time is Snapper time.

Solid Salmon caught trolling the Third Runway on Sunday.

FISHING REPORT

Another great weekend of weather out on the water flat seas and light winds this is by far the best time of the year to be on the water and the fishing can be pretty good as well.
Sunday we headed off shore for the day trolling the coast to start the day but very slow only one Bonito and the water along the coast in close had a milky green colour to it not good.

Pushed wide from Coggee into 65metres and around the 40metre mark the water change to a bright blue colour and the fishing improved with a few Snapper one ripper, Flathead and a few other bottom dwellers.

Wide from the Bay in 50metres a Mako Shark turn up in our burley trail putting on a great display ripping into a fish frame we tie to a lenght of rope, photos to come, great way to end the day.

Sunday proved rather good in the Bay but we worked for our fish, Trevally at the Alley and Drums but small so watch the size, Trolling produce Salmon and Tailor along the third runway and we finished the day catching two small Flathead on plastics out form Kurnell.

South coast Deep sea trip

Headed out from the Port Hacking on Thursday to a great looking day, flat seas and light wind, trolling to start the day produced Bonito along the cliffs before pushing south towards Stanwell tops, the run south is quite special, the mountain range runs right to the edge of the coast and the sand stone cliffs drop vertical to the water and light up in the morning sun.

Dropped anchored in 18metres at our first spot but rather quite only a few small Trevally so we pushed further south straight out from the new road bridge in 40metres to fish the bottom, conditions were perfect with a slow drift we could spot fish on the sounder on the bottom and drop baits straight to them producing a good bag of small Snapper another top day south coast.

FISHING REPORT

Well the fish turn it on in the Bay Saturday proved tough due to the weather as it blew around 20knots all day, dropped three fish early trolling but caught two Squid and a few live baits before tucking in tight at Trevally just out of the wind from the west and the Kings turn it on landing five two about 67cms and the other just fell short but they hit hard and stripped line off the reels, hard to beat.

Found a few Bream lurking along the bottom but no Trevally, we headed toward Brighton and caught a few Trevally in close to end the day.

Sunday turned it on with great weather and top fishing, Trolling early produced well with Bontio, Tailor and nice Kingie that fell to the Bullet lure.

Trevally turned it on at Trevally Alley and the Drums what a day on the water.

A welcome visitor from the north a Spotted Mackerel

caught Trolling today.

Trevally are about at the Sticks but burley is needed.

At last a weekend on the Bay with good fishing weather, yes a little rain but light winds.

Trevally are about and the Drums and the Sticks are fishing well but burley is need to bring them on the bite.

Bream have slowed up a little now as the spawning season is just about over its time to head back into the rivers for better results on Bream.

Trolling prove a winner over the weekend Tailor, Salmon and the odd Bonito are feeding along the Third runway and the new small channel markers, the water is quite dirty in this area but the fish are about.

A tropical visitor turned up to day trolling as all were very surprised as I slipped the net over a 75cm Spotted Mackerel what a ripper and top table tucker.

Another wet Easter weekend and Iam glad I decided to take a few days off with the family we headed to Mudgee not a drop of rain in land.
Hit the water a few days before the break and yesterday and the fishing has been at its best with good mixed catches on all trips.

South coast deep sea day had us fishing flat seas and light winds and we did well on Trevally, Flathead and Bonito with one good red in the bag for a top outing.

The Bay is fishing well the Bream have slowed at the Sticks so you may need to move about to find them, Trevally are at the Sticks and the Drums and trolling the Third runway produced well with Tailor and Salmon.

A few from the Bay today.

Back on the bay today after Saturday was wiped out due to weather and the fishing was rather good with Bream around the Sticks and the odd Trevally we fished the run out tide and did well today.

Trolling along the Third runway produced Salmon but the water was quite dirty due to all the rain in this area.

The Drums produced small snapper just under size all about 29cms and small Trevally.

Weipa trip April 2011

Well just back on deck after another great trip away to Weipa, the wet season is still in full swing it so late this season, the Blue water turned it on with Trevally, Tuna, Mackerel and quite a few good reef fish, but we found the creeks a little slow due to all the fresh water in the system so we spent the last day back around the main entrance and did well on Queen Fish to end the trip.

Keen on next year for a great week fishing in Weipa, be quick to book as I only run two trips each year and they fill fast.

What a season on the Bream we are having

A good Trevally from the Sticks.

Just one of the Morwong caught on Wednesday off shore.

Fished off shore on Wednesday in large seas but with the wind from the west it made for great fishing conditions out wide we trolled early for Bonito and a few Tailor before fishing the Bottom for Morwong, Pig Fish and Flathead.

Saturday was called off due to the weather again, yes having a good run the last few weeks but Sunday we headed out with the Girls from Woronora RSL Fishing club, tough weather tough Girls as it rained and blew form the south, but they fished on, and did okay on the Bream and Trevally as the water is still dirty from all the rain last week, no surface action and only one loan Bonito as I trolled most of the top end of the Bay, The Stick are fishing well for all species, two good Flathead made up the catch for the boy on the afternoon trip.

Total wash out this weekend, put the boat in Saturday morning and headed across to wharf guess I was a little keen but had the boat back on the trailer by 6am heading back home and Sunday the call went out at 4.50am trip off to wet, what a night of heavy rain and the wind came up both days so it would have been a little tough out there.

FISHING REPORT

Great Fishing across the Bay this week, surface action with Bonito and Tailor and the odd Salmon around the end of the Third Runway and across to Port Botany trolling and spinning working well if feeding schools are found.
Bream tough on Saturday due to the small run in tide so Sunday I fished the Sticks at first light with the end of the run out and caught ten good fish on Prawns to kick the day off.

One of the Bays up and coming top fisho had a day he will remember for some time, Adam 11 fishing with his father Steve trolling wide from the Peak on Saturday hook and landed a good Stripe Marlin on 10kg what a catch, they stop on there way back to show it off with Adam dancing on the nose of his Dads boat, good one mate.

The Drums are fishing well with Trevally and a few Bream and small Kingies so a top week of great fishing all round and the season is only just starting to fire.

Bay a little dirty again this week I think Port Botany is to blame.

The fishing on the southern side of the Bay around the Sticks has been red hot with good Bream and trevally on both tides, Trolling on Sunday produce Tailor and Bonito in Yarra Bay early, look for birds feeding and troll this area.

Due to the dirty water I only caught one small small king Fish trolling this weekend and I look around many spots but never seen one, but they will be back as tomorrow is another day on the water.

FISHING REPORT

Well what a weekend the weather was kind and the fishing rather good, Saturday morning we headed off shore and did well trolling catching six Bonito and dropping a few, they have thin out a little.

The rest of the fishing off shore prove a little tough, we found Flathead in large numbers out from Bondi in 40 metre but to many small fish and only the odd keeper.

Raced back to a Kingie spot to end the day and got smoked big time as a good fish that found the reef.

Nathan fished the afternoon in the Bay and did well with a legal King and a few smaller one and a mixed bag of fish, yes he kicked my but.

Sunday time to seek revenge as I had the morning trip in the Bay, Trolling only found one Bonito but the Bream at the Sticks turned it on bagging six nice fish, few trevally around the Drums but no Kings so not to bad.

Nathan headed out for the afternoon trip in the Bay and yes kicked me hard as the fish turned it on with the big run out tide, Trevally, Bream, Tailor, Salmon and all enjoyed a top outing.

This week the weather turned and made it tricky fishing, Saturday was a blow out but Sunday we headed out with the guys from the first Fishing School this year and did well trolling early with Bonito around Bare Island, headed to Port Botany and found Tailor schools working the surface mostly small fish 28cms to 35cm loads of fun spinning and quite a few Bonito also.
Bream turned it on again at the sticks on the last of the run out tide before the wind shut the day down and we called it a day.
Early in the week fished the Port Hacking for the afernoon with the Kids and did well with a few nice fish up on the Flats all caught on Nipper.

Fishing report

The last few days out on the Bay have been sticky with the heat, Bream are still in good numbers aroiund the Sticks, Bonito good trolling just off Bare Island and towards Cape Banks
Kings are around many markers but still tricky to land a legal fish but great fun.

Sunday we slipped off shore and headed wide with all reports or Mackerel, Yellow Fin, Wahoo and the other tropical vistors but no good after two hours trolling so I stopped on the Reefs wide from Coggee and caught Morwong, Pig Fish and finished the day trolling back to the Bay and we caught a few Bonito just before the big blow.

Mack tuna busting up all over Yarra Bay on Sunday morning and trolling produced the goods with solid hook ups and screaming runs great fun.

The bay has slowed down in the last two days dew to a little dirty water but the Bream are still around in rather good numbers but I have found you will need to move around for best results.

So fish the shallows for best results, the Drums and the Oil wharf proved a little tough only producing a few Trevally, Kings are a little tricky but this can change over night.

Trolling off shore on Thursday we caught two good Macks.

For all the anglers that have fished with me over the last 6months,

yes its the Bullet Lure still going strong and it takes another

species a Mack Tuna, its now caught well over 150 fish trolling.

A TOP MIX CATCH FROM THE BAY EARLY THIS WEEK

Well a week of windy days out on the bay but some great fishing along the way, no outstanding fish this week but good mix of fish on every outing.

Bonito, Bream, Whiting, Tailor, Trevally, Flathead, Salmon, Kings and each day its been much the same.

Bonito have slow up in the Bay but still about trolling seems the better way to pick them up as they are feeding on very small bait.

Bream are now in good numbers and we are finding quite a few around the sticks on both tides with the odd Whiting mixed in.

Trevally in smaller numbers and this is the norm for summer but quite a few solid fish about the Drums and Oil wharf.

Kings are there one day and hard to fine the next but still tricky to land a legal one but loads of fun on light tackle.

Frank landed his first Kingie at the Drums on the 3oth on light tackle, any Kingie is a great fish in my book, the past two weeks we have caught well over 50 rat King Fish in Botany Bay legal size

is 65cms so put them back.

Another year has gone in a blink, well that's what it seems like.

To the fishing and its been a great year all round with lots of great days out on the water and quite a few good fish landed along the way, I would like to thank all that have join this year and look forward to catching up on the water reel soon.

Still a little tough on the Bay thank god for the Bonito as they are just about all over the Bay from Georges River sailing club to the heads, trolling or spinning working well just look for fish working the top.
We need a good blow from the south and a few days of big swells to kick all into gear this won`t be far away and after that the fishing with turn it on big time.

Saturday and Sunday fished rather well with The odd Trevally and Bream quite a few small Kings and Bonito.

Bonito are about in big numbers from Towra point and

out towards the Third Runway small metals working well.

Bream are schooling up try inside Towra Point and up river for best results.

Fishing Report

The lower end of the Bay is fishing well dew to the cold water still hanging around the coast we need a few days of wild south weather to bring in the good water which is sitting out wide and then it will fire big time.

Tailor, Bonito, Salmon and the odd Trevally are feeding across the Bay on the surface and this has been most of the action of late so keep an eye open for birds feeding or fish working the surface.

Bait fishing is still rather slow but Bream are a good chance from Towra point and back towards the Bridge on both tides.
Saturday fishing the Third Runway Craig hooked a small reddie that came straight to the surface and was smash twice by a good fish, Craig hooked what we all though was a Kingie or a bloody big Salmon but to our surprise it turned out to be the biggest Tailor I have ever landed in the Bay all of 70cms after a few photos we release the old girl, one hell of a Tailor.

Great fishing but cold water, the lower end of the Bay is fishing well with Tailor, Bonito and the odd Trevally feeding on the small bait that for me is the start of summer fishing we just need the water to warm and the Kings will fire, they fire big time on Friday just off the Oil Wharf we boated 20 all 55cm to 60cm small fish but bloody great fun, Saturday and Sunday not one, bring on the warm water.

Friday and what a tough day on the water someone turned the tap off we fished all over the Bay for a small catch of Trevally from the Sticks and one Bonito off Cape Banks trolling.
Saturday we headed off shore and I was keen as the Bay had shut down we started the day trolling the coast and no hook ups until we hit Yellow rock small Kings and Bonito great start to the day, in close the reefs were quite so we pushed wide and again worked or a few Morwong and Pig Fish after three drifts and we ended the day with a few good Flathead in the mouth of the Bay in 52metres.

Sunday out on the Bay what a turn around but we worked for the fish, Bream one just on 40cms, Trevally, four Flathead on plastics, two bonito on the troll great mixed catch for the day.

Well at last we get two nice days on the water, light winds and no rain.

Off shore the Bonito are in good numbers along the coast and trolling is working well with small lures early morning.

The wide reefs off Coogee were quite so we headed to the Flathead grounds and did well bagging a great feed.

Botany Bay fished well early on Sunday morning but shut down on the runout tide, Zelko caught a nice King Fish at the drums, the odd Trevally but tricky this week, last spot we fished was wide from Towra point and caught a few small Tarwine to end the day.

Deep sea weekend and we headed off shore to the north trolling Bonito up and the odd small King Fish, it was a little rough both days and sea sickness took its toll on the boys.

North end of Maroubra beach we did well on Trevally but seas made it tricky.

Flathead are about wide from Yellow rock in 50 metres drifting for best results.
Back in the Bay on Sunday we fished the drums and scored Trevally, Tailor to finish the day.

Big few days on the Bay

Wet, cold, windy, sunny we have had it all this weekend but the fishing turn it on again and its been this way for quite some time, Trevally, Bonito and Bream are about in rather good numbers, Trevally making up the bulk on each trip, the drums, Oil wharf both fished well.
Trolling produced a few Bonito in the Bay and around the entrance, Bream were mixed in with the Trevally in smaller numbers

Bay and off shore weekend

Big reef Jacket taken on the drift.

Morwong are one fish you will find drifting over

hard bottom and love Prawns and Squid.

Top effort a good Snapper taken in 24metres on a plastic on the first cast.

Small run of Bonito are along the coast

and around the entrance of the Bay.

FISHING REPORT

Saturday was a day out on the Bay and the Trevally turn it on with good numbers along the Oil Wharf, Drums and Trevally Alley and the weather played the game to, light winds from the north east but it kicked later in the day and blew all night, great when the next day we are heading off shore.

Sunday and yes the bloody wind was up early pushing from the north east at about 12knots as we trolled past Cape banks heading north for the day, picked up eight Bonito then anchored and fished baits down a burley trail, one good Snapper taken on a plastic and a few more on baits and three Trevally, pushing wide from Coggee to try drifting in 65metre picking up one good Morwong, a bag of Flathead to end the day, shore good to head back into the Bay today thats for shore.

The boys and there catch from today

South coast day 27th

Well another trip south with a top looking ahead of us as we left the boat ramp, flat seas around the entrance, but as normal Sydneys weather turned it up with a southerly pushing in around 15knots so the trip south was a little lumpy, but the fishing turned it on with Bonito along the coast early trolling, then to the Hump and in the conditions we had drifting was our best chance and we did well on Morwong, one nice Snapper (they were in hiding again) Pig fish ect after a few hours we motored back north and had a top session on Flathead wide off the Bommie to end the day.

Catch from last Wednesday

Botany bay fished well on Saturday, Trevally in good numbers along the Oil Wharf on the turn of the tide.

Bonito are schooling off shore, we trolled up a few on Saturday and then had a shot at the Salmon school us in side Cape Banks but they had lock jaw, we tossed plastics and metals with no results.

Headed to the sticks and caught two nice Flathead on the drift on Squidgies.

Last Wednesday headed south from the Port Hacking and had a rather good day with a mixed bag on the day.

FISHING REPORT

Saturday was a wipe out with the weather so it was to the water on Sunday to a much better day, it still blew from the South west most of the day.

Trevally Alley was the idea start and it fished well with Tailor and Trevally, the water was quite dirty it will be great when all the work is finished at Port Botany and they let the Bay settle again.

Worked the Brighton beach area with soft plastics for two very small Flathead.

Trolled Yarra Bay, The Oil wharf and the beach front at Brighton for zip so yet to see any surface action.

Last Wednesday we headed south from Port Hacking to target Snapper and fished wide at the Hump first and found it rather quite so we moved and tried a few other spots and did rather well a few Reds, Flathead and a mixed bag.

Botany Bay Fishing Report

Kirt with a few good fish caught on Sunday at Trevally Alley.

Solid Bream from Trevally Alley.

A windy weekend out on the Bay with easterlies all day Saturday swinging on Sunday to the south east about 15knots making the Bay rather choppy.

Both days Trevally Alley fished well with Trevally and a few Bream but hard work and a good burley trail was needed to bring the fish on the bite both days.

Trolling very slow on both days Saturday we trolled Yarra Bay for zip and Sunday I tried Kurnell head land and back in around Oil wharf for the same so not much around in the top end of the Bay in the way of Tailor, Salmon ect, my thought are to try the lower end maybe along the beach at Brighton early morning or late.

Spinning with plastics on Saturday landed a Flounder and a Flathead but zip on Sunday.

Towra wide on Saturday afternoon we picked up a few Bream but only one keeper but they will now slowly improve each week as the water warms up.

Soft Plastic caught Flathead.

The boys on Sunday having fun on a hot Trevally bite at the Oil Wharf.

Botany Bay over the weekend fished rather well with Trevally making up the bulk of the catch each day, Trevally Alley proved a little slow early only producing a the odd fish on the run in tide but the Oil wharf fished well with big numbers about on the run out later.

Spinning with soft plastic only produced the odd fish so a little effort may be needed to fine Flathead and trolling this weekend only produced one loan Tailor in Yarra Bay.

No go this weekend as the weather turned nasty, Last weekend we headed off south mid week and headed south looking for Snapper and did okay with a top catch, the Hump out wide was quite so we moved in close and found a few fish but the Barracota turned up and made it tricky getting baits to the bottom, further north we found good numbers of Sand Flathead.

Botany Bay report

Well a tough weekend on the Bay, Trevally seem to be only at the Alley as it fished well both days and I tried many other spots but no good.

I trolled all over the Bay and along the Kurnell headlands with no results.

Spinning with soft plastics on Saturday proved a winner with a few nice fish and Bill showed all how its done catching four fish to effort mate.

Sunday the Boy caught a top feed of Trevally and lots of smaller ones that seem in large numbers this week at Trevally Alley.

The last fish on Sunday was a big old Port Jackson shark we caught just off the Third runway and the boy took a few quick photos and we put him back.

Botany Bay Report

Saturday and Sunday were on the Bay as the last few weeks have been off shore, Saturday we started at Trevally and did rather well early but the fish just went off the bite as the wind came up and it ripped up the Bay from the south west at 30knots, Brighton beach was the only spot to fish that gave us some protection and we worked hard for two nice Flathead on plastics, one a top fish Craig hooked of 72cm that was photo and put back.

Sunday the wind had dropped and it looked a much better day to be on the water, started at Trevally Alley for a good catch and again the fish went of the bite around the same time as Saturday, We then headed over to Kurnell and trolled around the head land and back for zip, anchored at the Drums, the Third Runway and both spots very quite so we headed back to Trevally Alley and caught a few more to finish the day.

The Blue Morwong caught on the wide reefs out from Coogee.

The Kyogle boys and there catch on Saturday

Friday the ocean looked like a washing machine and with a deep sea trip planed for Saturday it wasn`t looking great, but the sea breeze report was spot on and the swell dropped over night.

We started the day in the Bay until the sun was up and then we headed out straight to the wide reefs off Coogee and did well with Morwong and a lone Snapper, The Kyogle boy were down to the big smoke for the weekend to watch the footy and head out fishing and all was looking good with quite a few nice fish in the box, then the wind then came up rather strong from the North west making it sloppy and around 11.30am we headed back to the Bay as all were keen as the wind made fishing off shore rather tough, I headed straight to Trevally Alley to be out of the wind and anchored and we finished the day with eight Trevally and two Tailor for a great day.
Sunday was planned to head south from the Port and the weather was spot on, I head straight to the Humps looking for Snapper, after three drift and not a fish we headed back in close as the wind from the west again make fishing wide tough we anchored and caught a few small snapper and Flathead and finished the day drifting for a bag of Flathead.

BOTANY BAY TRIP
Saturday on the Bay was a tough day, anchored at Trevally Alley as the cool west wind was ripping across the Bay, the first fish landed was a Barracouta and this normally means cold water has hit the coast but we push on but never lost a bait, we fished all over the Bay from the Trevally Alley to Watts Reef the Drums, the Sticks The Third Runway, Brighton Beach covering all methods from trolling to Soft plastic and bait, we caught a hand full of small Snapper and one small Trevally, the Bay was shut down its the toughest day I have on the water in a long time, we finished the day with a small Flathead caught on a soft plastic at Kurnell.

DEEP SEA TRIP

Sunday was a Deep sea day which suited me just fine, trolling early only produced one Bonito and on the anchor in close was slow this could be due to a drop in temp, we caught to small Snapper that we kept and quite a few smaller ones just off the Wedding Cake Island.

We pushed wide into 65metres and fished the reefs and did rather well with Morwong, Pig Fish and another small Snapper before heading to the Flathead grounds in 50metres straight out from the Bay and ended the day with six Flathead.

FISHING REPORT

Well the weather played the game this weekend with two different days out, Saturday we fished the Bay and Trevally Alley produced a few fish early to kick start our day we worked the middle part of the day looking for Flathead on plastics and Trolling for Tailor and Salmon but a little tough this weekend.

Head to brighton beach and again we did well to end the day with Trevally, Salmon on Pilli cubes before spinning for Flathead back in the river just out from the sailing club landing two keeping one.

Sunday we headed off shore again but this week proved a lot tougher than last, Trolling early only produce one fish and when we anchored in close all very quite one small Snapper and a Trevally and a few Sweep, we then pushed wide to fish the deeper water, last week was great but this week very tough only a few small Pig Fish, so we push towards the Flathead ground just out from the Bay and save the day with ten Flathead, what a tough day.

Sunday with flat seas and light winds we headed off shore for the day, trolling early proved a little slow with two hookups on Bonito.

Anchored in close to Yellow rock for few Trevally and a small Snapper to start the day but the back wash at this spot can be tricky to fish so we moved on.

Heading to the grounds wide from Coogee to fish the bottom for Mowrong, Snapper and Flathead proved worth while with a great bag of all plus a few Pig Fish, we then headed to the Flathead grounds and picked up eight Flathead to finish the day.

Late afternoon trolling the the Third Runway and my new

Bullet lures scores a solid Tailor.

The Bullet takes another Salmon along the Container wall.

Trevally Alley proved tough this weekend with only a
few Trevally but this ripper kept all keen.

Again the Bullet scores bagging this solid Tailor on the troll.

Botany Bay Report

This week on the water the fishing proved a little tough as Trevally Alley shut down very tough along the wall we only pulled a few fish in each outing over the weekend, I think the temp may have fallen and the fish have moved.

The Third Runway proved the spot and on three trip we pulled all our fish trolling or spinning along edge of the runway, Tailor and Salmon seem to be hanging along this area in good numbers and good size Tailor as well a few of the fish we caught were up around 55cms not bay for Bay Tailor, so trolling is producing well.

I fished quite a lot of spots looking for Fish this weekend and the top end of the Bay seemed very quite so if your heading out this week I would fish lower in the Bay, but today is another day and fishing can change over night.

The boys on Sunday had a ball spinning the end of

the Third Runway for Tailor.

Trevally Alley producing well, this is one of the better fish we

caught over the weekend.

Botany Bay report

Another top weekend of fishing, yes Saturday morning was a little cool but in behind the Container wall at Trevally Alley was quite nice and the fishing started slow due to the low tide but once the sun hit the water and the tide started running in it was game on with Trevally on the bite, this repeated it self both days.

Tailor were slow on Saturday but Sunday we did well with a small school just at the end on the Third Runway and spinning with small metals fooled the fish and we boated around 30 fish in a hot session great fun.

Spinning with Plastic on Saturday along the beach at Brighton produced well with around 10 Flathead, two keepers and the rest all around 33-35cms were put back.

So a great two days out on the water and a good mix of fishing.

Top weekend of fishing on the Bay, Trevally are respond well to burley and fresh baits and we did well at Trevally Alley early morning and there is a mix of good fish and quite a few smaller fish around 28 to 30 so watch the size.

Spinning produce on good Flathead on the drift in Yarra Bay in 7 metres.
