Wild fishing in the tropics

Well just back from two weeks fishing northern Australia what a trip great weather and top fishing, Fished the creeks and found Barra, Jacks and Cod of all sizes around the mouth of each creek Queenfish and Trevally jumped all over a fast moving lure loades of fun. Trolling the many rocky headlands had us tangeling with Mackerel, Tuna and larger Trevally and Queenfish. Reef fishing with bait the species just to many to list.
On this trip I tried out the the Schneider High Performance Braid now I have used this Braid in and around Botany Bay with good results but up north is the real test and it did the job better than I hoped for and I fished lighter than I would normally very impressed a great product.

Great day on the bay

The weather was as good as it get out on Botany Bay today, Started at the Hot water oulet but again no results spinning with metals on first light this has been the same no for a few weeks but still worth a try.
Trevally Alley was next and we scored a nice fish on the first bait but then they went of only catching three.
Trolled Yarra Bay and scored two tailor smaller fish around 40cms.
Next headed to the bottom end of Yarra for one nice Flathead on a plastic.
Anchored near the fish farm to finish the day and had a hot bite of Trevally this time casting small plastics before the owner of the farm came over and let me know that all boat must keep 50metre away form the farm at all times and the Police will soon be handing out tickets soon so keep your distance.
Spinning for Trevally on plastics with light gear on Braid is top fun and worth a try just start a burley trail and then allow your plastic to sink back then work it back to the boat.

Next singles day 7th of October

Next fish school Monday the 8th 6pm to 9pm and the day on the water is Saturday 20th 6am to 1pm.

Mixed bag for the fishing school

Heavy rain right across Sydney the night before but in the morning clearing skys and no wind had us on the bay for a great days fishing, The boys from the fishing school were out for there day on the water which I run once a month at Hunts Marine and covers all you will need to know on how to catch and find fish in Botany Bay and other water ways around Sydney.
As all the reports from the last week or so Trevally will make up most of your catch at this time of the year and Trevally Alley is fishinf well, Today the fish seemed better just on the edge of the shipping channel and all were not a bad size, Lost a few Tailor before landing a few but only small fish around 35cm on Pilchard.
Spinning for Flathead today had us over around the moored boats in Yarra Bay just of La Perouse and we did rather well, Lost the best fish right at the boat it was around 60cm and had sucked the small Squidgie down deep. The rest of the Flathead were all around the same size 38cms to 45cms all up seven fish on plastics in a one hour spinning session not to bad.
Trolled again but no action again today.

Kids day on the bay

Well the weather prove not to bad fishing Botany bay this week and the kids from Coogee score plenty with Trevally in deep water Port Botany side of the Container wall and most fish were around 35cms, This is a good spot to try if the wind is blowing from the East.
Trolling is still very slow and the last few days I have tried many spots looking for Tailor only landing one.
Spinning with soft plastics had us again into Trevally around the Hot Water these fish are smaller than on the other side of the Bay but still loads of fun on light tackle and they just love small Squidgie wrigglers.
Flathead spinning still patchy only the odd fish.

NEXT SINGLES DAY 7TH OF OCTOBER AND I HAVE A FEW SPOTS LEFT.
