LONG WEEKEND FISHING

The weather at last found us with a few good days on the water, Monday was a little on the windy side but the fishing was rather good for all, Bream have been in good numbers from Towra point to the sticks and across the middle of the Bay, Nippers have scored well in all spots and there is the odd Whiting mixed in.
Salmon and Tailor on Monday in the middle of the bay in the windy weather, Soft plastic flick baits from Squidgies in the white colour worked well as we had no results on metal lures.
Found the odd Kingie over the weekend but the amount of boats on the water all looking for Kingies put them of the bite, I could see them on the sounder but they turn there noses up at a live bait.
Had a few reports of Trevally in good numbers around the runways over the weekend.
Working soft plastics across the middle of the Bay I found the odd Flathead but only smaller fish around 40cms.

I have a free morning trip in Feb if any one is keen Saturday the 9th now this has just come up so be quick for this one.

Floating money

Nathan and myself out checking out some new grounds the for deep sea trips, looking good.
Kingies from Thursday deep sea trip

Wednesday afternoon trip, 4pm to 10pm the plan was Catch bait, target Kingies then onto the shallow grounds to target Bream before heading back to one of the bridges to set a few live baits in the hope of landing another Jew fish or two. Bait no problems at the end of Yarra Bay, The plan was to stay in side the Bay as the sea was up and all of my spots around the mouth of the Bay were out of control, While catching bait one of the boys yell out, The net quick, As I raced to his side of the boat thinking he had a good Bream on one of the bait line, He pointed to $100.00 note just floating past the boat that's one to remember, I had to catch the rest of the bait as all the boys were looking for more floating money. (Botany Bay has it all). The rest of the trip was down hill from there, No Kingies, One nice Bream and no Jews one of the toughest trips I have in a long time had sorry boys.
The next day was a total turn around the sea had drop off and the day was plan to fish off shore so we filled up with live baits and headed out and scored quite a few good Kingies most fish around 6ocms with 5 nice fish 65th 70cms a top day on the water.

Hot and cold on the Bay

Saturday out on Botany Bay look rather good for fishing, Light rain wind about 10 to 15 knots from the north west, Tide high early So I headed to the Bream grounds just off the Third Runway all look good but no results, Moved to the Sticks no good, Next the Hot water out let as Nathan scored well here on Fridays Trip, No good.
Time to target Kingies boated two fish one 63cm and the other 60cm busted on a good fish and that was the day very quite and soaked.
Sunday and another day on the Bay, Fill up on live bait first and headed out looking for Kingies, Boat an 80cm fish and two 75cm and one around 67cms lost one good fish right at the boat and let go five under size fish all about 60cms what a different day on the Bay, Only if I had the bloody camera that was sitting on my desk at home, Head to the bream grounds as the tide was running out hard, Started just wide from the sticks and boated six bream and two nice Whiting in 30min on Nippers, Move only about 300metres and boated six more what a top day out on the bay.
I feel for all that fished with me on Saturday as we tried all we could try but some days they just don`t play that's fishing.

Kingies on the bite

Headed out to find Tailor feeding in the middle of the Bay, Not much action on top so trolling deeper lures worked well and spinning with metals scored as well.

Headed to the live bait grounds to fill up we then worked a few areas and located Kingies up to 75cms the boys caught about six Kingies that were us under size but loads of fun all fish taken on small Yellow Tail.

Top day on the Bay also found Bream just of the third runway.

This weekend both Saturday and Sunday are free so if you are keen for a top day fishing Botany Bay targeting Kingies, Bream Tailor Salmon
Trevally and Flathead be quick as they will fill fast just give me a call.

BACK FROM CHRISTMAS BREAK

Short time away from Botany Bay but Nathan has been out a few days running my boat for me and has found all a little tough, But his last trip out found a few solid Kingies that smashed small live baits, The boys lost a few and landed a few, Bream and Trevally have both been a little slow as we have had bad water hanging around over the break but the fish caught were all good fish.
Slimy Mackerel are around the drums in the middle of the Bay.
And Nathan found Flathead spinning with plastics just wide from Silver Beach.
THE LAST SATURDAY AND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH ARE NOW BOTH SINGLE DAYS SO IF YOU ARE KEEN TO JOIN A GROUP BOOK NOW AS THERE ARE SPOTS STILL FREE FOR THE END OF JANUARY .
