SYDNEY FISHING REPORT

Nice Morwong taken wide from Coogee

Midweek Salmon caught on a Pillie cube

Bream and Flathead from the Sticks

Botany Bay Report
Midweek fished well in the Bay, we had to work for the fish but ended up with a good catch at the end of the day, A few small kingies from the Drums and Trevally and the Sticks produced Bream and Flathead but you will need to move about as I did to get the results.
Deep sea Report
Saturday morning and the weather at last was just right as we headed off shore for the day.
Bonito are thick along the coast from the mouth of the Bay all the way to Yellow Rock and trolling with small lures and small skirts is to easy most of them are only small with the odd better fish mixed in, Once caught bleed straight away and then put them on ice, at home take two fillets off the Bonito and lie on foil skin down, brush with olive oil on flesh and then season both fillets with salt and pepper before cooking under the grill until fillets are golden brown on top, add a squirt of lemon or sweet chill sauce.
After the Bonito we headed wide but found All very quite, no Flathead on the sand and the reef produced one good Morwong before we headed home, but a top day out on the water, no wind.

BOTANY BAY REPORT
Well another wet weekend, but on the Bay the weather was kind and we had two good days, Saturday we needed to work hard but ended up with a good bag of Bream Trevally and a few Salmon, Sunday proved a little better as I started at Trevlly Alley and caught a few small Bonito and a few good Trevally and we got smoked on a good Kingie on light tackle, I then trolled around the entrance thinking that we would encounter more Bonito but did no good, We headed to the Bream ground and picked up six Bream to finish the day and not a drop of rain all day.

FISHING REPORT SYDNEY

Dave and another Botany Bay Kingies.

The boys at the Sticks with small Kingies, top fun on the light tackle.

Bream proved a little tough today after all the rain and big blow.

Nice Whiting taken out off the old Runway.

BOTANY BAY REPORT
Wild and windy this weekend and Saturday was call off dew to the weather, Sunday looked a little better the wind had backed off after blowing hard all night, another night sleeping with one eye open and listing to the weather out side, I love what I do but the weather gives you the shits at times.
All seemed keen at the wharf Sunday morning at 6am so we head out into the Botany Bay, the wind came up again but not to bad and a little rain, we kick of at the Sticks as the Bream over the last few weeks have been good, we moved around a little only picking up one before heading down the Bay and found a few more and two nice Whiting.
Trevally proved a little slow at the Drums and there are heaps of small one hanging around as well and quite a few small Tailor.
I headed back to the Sticks for one last try and scored Four Kingies all just under size but on the light gear good fun, Dave hooked the best fish, 61cm on a strip of Squid on his last cast.
Nathan headed out for the afternoon and did rather well at Trevally Alley picking up Trevally and quite a few good Bream.

Bream are a better size at the Sticks so far this season.

Squid from Watts Reef early morning.

The small Jew take on the end of the Third Runway.
Botany Bay report
Well a tough weekend, shore we caught fish but we worked for them, the Bream at the Sticks on Saturday morning on that run in tide and 25knots from the south tested us just a little all up we picked up around eight fish but move around to do so, Sunday morning I started lower in the Bay out of the Old Runway, started well again picking up around eight Bream and a small Trevally.
Squid are about with lots of cast you will pick them up, Watts reef has proven rather good of late and you will find Yellow Tail there in good numbers.
Trevally on both morning trips proved rather tough to fine only picking up the odd legal fish from around the Drums and loads of small ones. The two morning trips prove a little tough but at the end we came home rather good with a mixed bag each trip, only two small kingies caught this weekend maybe the big tides were the problem but thats fishing.
Sunday afternoon Nathan headed out with a group and cleaned up, out fishing my two trips, Trevally, Bream and even a small Jew Fish and Flounder, The Sticks on the run in tide fished well for Trevally as did Trevally Alley and he found Bream at both spots, the Jew and flounder came for the Third Runway.
Nathan runs all my afternoon trips on weekends so if you are keen to fish with Nathan and pick up a few of his tricks I have this Saturday afternoon open.
