HOT TIMES ON THE BAY

How bloody hot was it this week, I love it, it was like a week in Weipa but no Barra, bugger.
I had a mix of fishing this week and Kingies are all over the bay, But the size of the schools that we are catching are only small most fish between 55 to 60 and we are only finding the odd legal fish so lots of throw backs, How come I see many anglers out there keeping so many small Kingies come on let them go, the best fun is in the fight even if it is under size it will only help our stocks for next season put them back.
Trevally on the other hand have been out standing lots of solid fish mixed in with the normal size we catch loads of fun on light tackle.
Bream are also worth targeting but the run of fish is only small 26cms to 30cms but nice plate size fish, Try Nippers, Chicken, Pudding baits or Blood worms.
Off shore, I have again found the fishing a little tough but working at it put a mixed bag together of Trevally, Sweep, Pig fish, Blue Morwong and Leather Jackets and a load of small Kingies caught trolling early.

Happy new year to all

Mix of fish caught over the break

Sorry about the delay just been a little busy out on the water catching lots of fish.
As normal the Christmas period out on the water has been a little mad, I counted 35 boats at Trevally Allley one day, It has fished rather well with Kingies Trevally and the odd Bream, most Kingies are rats between 55 to 60cms and the odd good fish mixed in so what the size and put the small ones back for next season.
The Third runway has been another hot spot and I have spent quite a bit of time fishing around this spot, I have mainly caught Kingies and Bream and the odd Flathead and a few stud Whiting.
The Sticks is producing well for Bream and Trevally but the odd school of small Leatherjackets are making it tricky and the Drums are the same.
Middle of the bay is fish well for Bream Flathead and a few Flounder.
What the surface as Tailor and Salmon are about but only in small schools.
