FISHING WILD WEIPA

Well back in Sydney after a week fishing in Weipa and what a week, Warm weather and top fishing we hit the blue water for Tuna, Queenies, Trevally and Mackerel and then head up the rivers and creeks to live bait and toss lures around the snags for Barra, Jacks, Cod and heaps of others and more bust offs than one can remember, I think the photos tell the story.

Now if this looks good to you how about joining our next trip in September I have a few spots still open so just give me a call and I give you all the details, this is one trip you will remember.
BOTANY BAY
Nathan has been out on the Bay while I was away and found good numbers of fish, Trevally, Tailor and A few good size Snapper just wide from Bare island in the extreme weather that we have just had over the last week or so.

Still a few Kingies around

The weekend I had two fishing schools on the water, Both days we started on the Bream, Saturday found quality fish at the sticks but they had move on the Sunday morning.
Trolling over the weekend I found Salmon along the runway, not in big numbers but trolling on the light tackle for Salmon is hard to beat, caught Salmon both days.
I found the Kingies hard to find but others did well, Jim and his mate fished Trevally Alley, I should have anchored next to them as they lost a good one as I motored past and then later boated four good fish all on live baits top fishing boys.
Back at the boat ramp on Saturday another couple came in with a top catch of Flathead all taken on plastic in the Bay the fish were all between 45 to 60cms top catch.
Nathan headed out on Sunday afternoon after the storm went through and did well on Trevally at the drums and Oil Wharf, Tailor and Slimmy Mackerel, But he trolled the runway and Container wall and never turned a reel.

WEIPA IN SEPTEMBER I have four spots open, Seven days six nights fishing for Barra, Jacks Coral Trout, Trevally and Queen fish and many more.

Salmon on the chew

SOLID SALMON CAUGHT ON A McGOO SKIRTED LURE

This weekend had us off shore for a deep sea trip, I head north from Botany Bay and found good schools of Salmon feeding on white bait the plan was to troll past the school, Troll small skirted mcgooes proved the winner as the Salmon sucked them in every time we trolled past, These are a top little lure for Salmon, Kingies and Bonito when you are trolling the white water along the ocean rocks off Sydney, I had two Mcgooes out on each side and a small deep diver minnow straight down the middle.
After the fun on the Salmon we anchored up looking for Snapper, Trevally, Bream and found the fishing on bait a little slow only catching Sweep and one nice Morwong.
Heading back towards Botany Bay we found another school of Salmon so the boys were into them. We only kept a few for the table, top weather and great fishing, Winter time deep sea fishing will only get better and the Snapper will start soon and the Kingies will start to school on the off shore reefs.
Right at the end of the day we try Cape Banks for Kingies and scored a nice fish about 67cms that smash a live bait.
