WEEKEND OF GREAT FISHING

Last Friday was a cold and wet out on the Bay, Trevally are still rather good at Trevally Alley but Sunday morning I couldn't`t find them, They might be better on the run in tide.

Scored a few nice Flathead on soft plastics just wide from Towra these were the first for a while and we had to work to fine them, Both caught on a Squidgie Blood worm wriggler.

Saturday Morning it was the deep sea singles day, Nathan had the boat for this trip and filled up with the small Slimy Mackerel and head to the Peak, and what a day high speed jigging and live baiting well the photos tell the story.

Sunday I had the Botany Bay Singles day so I started at Trevally Alley, but no good, trolled Yarra bay and pick up a few small Tailor but dropped one right at the boat and a lure with it.

Headed to the drums and filled up with Slimies and then push just out of the mouth in around 46metres as last weekend we did well on the sand Flathead.

Today they were all in 45 to 47 metre and a little slow but a few good fish in the mix two of them both up around 57cms great for sandies, We ended up with a nice catch of around 20 fish for the day.

Mixed weekend of fishing

Well the weather over the last week was rather good and the fishing not to bad for winter, Trevally are around Trevally Alley but watch the size most fish are around 28cms to 33cms but we did catch a few better fish on the edge of the shipping channel on the change of tide and Nippers proved the better bait as the Slimies suck in every Pilchard cube that went over the side.
We had a visiting Seal in the Bay this week and he hung around most of the week around the same Channel Marker so have a look if you are out there this week.
Saturday I headed just wide from Botany Bay to look for Sand Flathead, Steve Cope from knock Out Pest Control brought his team out for the day and were keen on a little bit of bottom bashing after our start in the Bay so we headed straight out of the Bay to a depth of 50metres and started drifting and we did rather well rather well, best fish measured 53cms and they were all caught on the fresh strips of Slimy Mackerel.
Good friend of mine Clive Ellis scored well on soft plastics early in the week with eight nice Flathead and one solid Bream spinning the drop off along Brighton, I tried this edge later in the week but the fish had move.

Cold starts top weather.

Well just back after a week away, Headed out onto Botany Bay on Saturday with a cold wind blowing from the west we headed to Trevally Alley as this is a top spot out of the cool west wind.
Trevally are fishing well and I found most of the fish right on the end of the wall the problem was that most of the fish we caught were under size the school that we found all seem to be 28 to 32cms this is quite strange, Around the Drums I fine smaller Trevally at times but never along the Container wall just the odd one. Any way all caught a few before heading off.
Slimmy Mackerel are thick right across the bay, I found them at Trevally Alley, Drums, Kurnell point they are just the right size for live bait if you are heading off shore for Kings or Yellow fin.
